We are so excited that you decided to continue your academic journey at the University of California, Merced.

On behalf of the Transfer, Returning and Veteran (TRV) Student Services, I want to congratulate you on becoming a part of Bobcat community and welcome you to the University of California, Merced! My name is Julie Bishop, and I am the Coordinator for Transfer, Returning and Veteran Student Services. As you prepare for your transfer to UC Merced it is the goal of the TRV office to support you as you work to take the next step in your academic journey.

The TRV Student Staff and I are very aware of the unique experiences that you, as a transfer student, bring to our institution. It is the goal of TRV office to be your campus contact in connecting you to the variety of resources and services that are available to you as a student at UC Merced. In addition, we also strive to serve as a social support system to transfer students by offering you your own lounge as well as a variety of social events throughout the year. It is through these experiences and events that we hope you will be able to connect with other transfer students as you become a part of the Bobcat family.

I hope this welcome letter will serve as an initial invitation to stop by the TRV lounge. Come say “hello”, grab some coffee and a quick snack as you share a laugh or two with us. We’re in Sentinel Rock RM 150! The TRV student staff and I look forward to connecting with each of you as you start this next step of your journey. Let the journey begin!!
