Start your UC Merced experience this summer and set yourself up for college success!
Summer Edge helps students fine-tune computer science, chemistry, math and writing skills in a 6-week online program.
- Four learning modules are offered: College Computer Science Readiness, College Chemistry Readiness, College Mathematics Readiness, and College Writing Readiness.
- Students may choose to enroll in one or more learning modules.
- The time commitment is 7-8 hours per week, per subject.
- Learning Modules do not affect your GPA.
What's included:
- Synchronous computer science, chemistry, math, and/or writing pod sessions of 20-25 students, and office hours with peer learning instructors and faculty.
- Asynchronous instruction and assignments.
- Support from staff & Peer Learning Assistants.
- Each week there will be a one-hour workshop on college readiness topics, offered both synchronously and asynchronously.
Enroll:
- The classes are FREE – UC Merced is committed to your success!
- Course Dates: July 5 – August 11, 2023
- Priority registration through June 23
- Welcome email week of June 26

- Stay on track to graduate in four years – check your degree audit to see your progress
- Start a minor – the courses required for the Psychology minor are guaranteed in Summer Session
- Many courses are offered 100% online in summer 2023 and in-person courses are also available
- Financial Aid and Housing are available Enroll in at least six (6) units to be eligible to apply for financial aid
