Charles Nies, Ph.D., Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs kicks off Virtual Bobcat Day

VIRTUAL BOBCAT DAY

April 25, 2020 | 9 AM - 5 PM

On April 25, 2020, UC Merced hosted its first Virtual Bobcat Day. Traditionally, Bobcat Day is an on-campus event for first year students, transfer students, and their families. It's a day filled with opportunities to meet one another and gather information as they prepare for their UC Merced educational journey. Due to the circumstances of COVID-19, we were, unfortunately unable to welcome students and their families to campus for this annual spring event. Not to be deterred in our commitment to supporting our students, the UC Merced Admissions Office quickly adapted to a Virtual Bobcat Day for our incoming students and families. It was a day filled with warm greetings from Nathan Brostrom, Interim Chancellor, and Charles Nies, Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs, as well as informational webinars in a wide variety of topics including academics, services, and student panels. With over 1,300 registrants, it was a day filled with "virtual" Bobcat spirit that our students, faculty and staff embody every day. If you were unable to attend, we are currently editing the day's webinars and will update the links on this presentation and on bobcatday.ucmerced.edu. Watch at your leisure with family and friends! We encourage you to explore the different offerings to learn more about UC Merced. We can't wait to meet you. #WeAreBobcatStrong
