Congratulations on your Upcoming Move to our Campus!
We are excited to welcome you to the Bobcat family. Move-in Day is scheduled between 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. from Wednesday, Aug. 19 through Saturday, Aug. 23. Residents schedule move-in time on the housing portal.
Before you Start Packing,
we want to make sure you have all the necessary information on what you can and cannot bring to your new dorms. Familiarize yourself with the guidelines by visiting our website at https://housing.ucmerced.edu/prospective-students/what-to-bring. This comprehensive list will help you pack efficiently and avoid bringing any prohibited items.
Additionally,
we would like to inform you that during fall move-in, the weather in Merced can be quite hot, with temperatures ranging from 90 to 105 degrees. To stay comfortable and safe, we recommend that you plan your move-in activities accordingly. Stay hydrated, wear lightweight and breathable clothing, and take breaks in shaded areas when needed. Remember to bring sunscreen and a hat to protect yourself from the sun.

Fee payment deadline is August 19th.
Expecting a Refund? When you see a negative balance on your account, this indicates a refund is due to you. To receive your refund earlier, enroll in Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT). Log in to your Connect portal and click the Electronic Student Refund icon under the My Merced tab. If you are not enrolled in EFT, a paper check will be mailed.
When will I get my refund? Refunds are issued twice a week and delivered electronically or by check:
- Check refunds arrive within 7 to 10 business days (Monday - Friday)
- EFT refunds are deposited within 3 to 5 business days (Monday - Friday)
