The UC Merced logos are vital elements of our brand identity, representing our commitment to innovation, diversity, and excellence in education. To ensure clarity, consistency, and brand strength, only one logo should be on a given page or layout.
logos

Big M
The primary Big M logo represents the core of our brand identity and includes two elements: the “M” (emblem) and the logotype. This logo should be used in all major communications, including official documents, promotional materials, and digital platforms. The emblem must always include the logotype.
Boomer Bar
The Boomer Bar logo is a more spirited version of the Big M logo, embodying the energy of the university's mascot. While the Big M logo is clean and formal, the bobcat version adds a dynamic, bold element.
Logotype
The Logotype is a key element of the brand’s visual identity. This version is ideal for applications where the primary logo may be too large, such as small merchandise or social media.

boomer and rufus logos
To maintain brand consistency and support distinct visual identities, the Boomer Logo and Rufus Logo serve separate but complementary roles within the university’s brand system. Each logo has a defined purpose, context of use, and target audience. To protect the integrity of both brand identities, the Boomer and Rufus Logos may not be used together or in overlapping contexts. The Rufus Logo is restricted to Athletics-use while the Boomer Logo is the face of the university.
