academic walk

Academic Walk is home to the Merced 2020 Project, the latest campus expansion. This 1.2 million gross-square-foot project has been completed in three phases, staring in 2016 and wrapping up in 2020, and integrates academic and lab buildings, open spaces and recreational facilities.

The project is a master-planned initiative developed by a world-class team of architects, planners, engineers and construction professionals. The design and construction budget was $1.3 billion and includes 13 buildings, each of which will achieve at least a LEED gold certification, as well as supporting infrastructure.
